Newsletter 6th June 2008

posted Friday, 6 June 2008
Dear Parents and Friends,

Year 10s have been out on Work Experience this week. This is a valuable learning experience and several positive comments have been received so far. Indeed one Headteacher rang me this morning to say that three of our students were the best work experience pupils he had ever had. This is a fantastic endorsement and a demonstration of succeeding together for excellence in learning - well done to those students.

Several members of staff took part in "The Race for Life" last Sunday. This was to raise funds for cancer research and I would just like to congratulate them all for their efforts.

As you look through this newsletter you will see that there are many special events coming up. Ranging from music to sport to fairtrade and aquaboxes. These events show the commitment of the staff and pupils in going that extra mile to make Argoed High School the special place that it is.

Aquaboxes reminder-
The boxes have now been delivered. We would like all forms to continue to help fill these as soon as possible so that they can be sent to people in need. There is a possibility that our hard work can help those suffering from the effects of the recent cyclone in Burma.

Thank you for all of your continued support,
Mrs Williams.
