Dear Parents and Friends,

Congratulations to the two groups of Year 10 pupils who attended the Business Enterprise Challenge at Theatr Clwyd last week. Both groups did really well, one winning the "Best Creative Design" award and the other group winning "Best Presentation" and "Overall Winner" awards. This was a brilliant result against such tough opposition. The grand final is in February. Thank you to Miss Shepherd and all the pupils who took part.

Year 7 pupils had a fun afternoon in the dining hall on Wednesday challenging themselves with maths puzzles and games. The atmosphere was fantastic. This was followed by an evening of maths puzzles for parents and pupils who also enjoyed rising to the challenge. Thank you to Miss Grice, the maths department and those pupils who helped out for making it such a successful event.

Pupils from Year 9 enjoyed their visit to Theatr Clwyd to see "The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas" this week. The film is a fantastic adaptation of the book. Thank you to all staff and pupils for this very successful trip.

The staff and pupil school choir has had its inaugural rehearsals this week and first indications are that they will be a musical "tour de force"!

Reminder
School is closed to pupils on Friday 21st and Monday 24th November.

Year 8 Humanities trip to Chester
Last week the year 8's went to Chester on a humanities trip. The day was split into two halves. One group went to Chester Cathedral and the other went to the streets to take geographical notes. When we went to the Cathedral, we were amazed by the sight and the size of the building. We filled in a booklet about the main aspects and their positions in the Cathedral. We then moved to the streets for the questionnaire where we asked the public 3 questions about their day in Chester.
We really enjoyed our day!
By Sammy, Sharman and Charlotte.
